Support a good cause, while having fun

Submitted by: Chantal

Spend a relaxing day in the country while enjoying the array of food stalls and craft stalls on offer at Logwood Village's annual fun day on 26 May 2012 in Muldersdrift, Gauteng.

Logwood Village, a home for intellectually disabled adults from all over Gauteng, provides holistic care in a sustainable, protective environment that offers the opportunity for self-development.

"Our fun day is always a wonderful day out for the family with fun and games for children of all ages and entertainment to keep you on your toes," says Denise Foley, General Manager for Logwood Village.

"We are wearing masks for the day so bring your own or buy one at the door. Last year everyone got into the mood by wearing Wild West attire and the atmosphere was amazing.

"Children could have a lot of fun making their own masks. They can use anything to make them like cardboard or paper maché and can decorate them with glitter, paint and feathers. I can't wait to see what they will come up with."

Foley says that Logwood invites people from all over Gauteng to enjoy the day with the residents.

The event will begin at 10h00 until 17h00. Children under the age of 12 will enter the fun day for free and adults will only pay R20. Please note that no unsupervised children will be allowed to enter the event.

The event will take place at Plot 100, Sunset Drive, Nooitgedacht, Muldersdrift. GPS Coordinates: S26 00.339 – E027 53.024 or go to www.logwoodvillage.co.za for a map.

Says Foley: "Please help us raise funds for our amazing residents who, despite their disabilities, embrace life to the full."
