Celebrating Valentine’s Day with the kids

Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and togetherness and while it has traditionally been a time for couples to celebrate, it has evolved. Now everyone’s included in the gift-giving, gift-receiving and celebrations.

“One only need to look at the retailer and supermarket shelves to see that, in this day and age, Valentine’s Day really is for everyone. It’s an opportunity to let the people in your life know how much they mean to you – be it friends, your better half or work colleagues. Children also love to know how loved they are and it’s wonderful to include them in the spoils,” explains Chiquita Patrizi spokesperson for Prima Toys.

While love is in the air and the primary Valentine colours are pink and red with the predominant element being a heart, there is lots of space for other colours and elements. Purple, orange and yellow show warmth and love, while fluffy pets, cute trinkets and collectibles are great gift ideas.

Prima Toys has a variety of toys that fit with the Valentine’s day theme and will delight kids of all ages. Below are some of them:

Bananas

Bananas are the latest collectible craze to hit the market. They are available as single bananas or as beautifully coloured bunches of three. Each Banana is deliciously scented and in order to see what is inside, children can peel the banana. Inside each Banana is a unique Crushie character. The Bananas Crushie can be decorated with gemstone stickers and for even more fun play, the Crushies can be connected together on the vine.  Kids can collect the beautifully coloured Bananas to create bunches, and at the same time collect all the unique Crushie characters and their mini squeezable friends!
