Namola helps hundreds of South Africans each week

With 140,000 downloads, Namola is one of the fast growing safety apps in South Africa. The app, supported by Dialdirect, has been endorsed by - among others - the Department of Women, Gauteng Community Safety Department and the SABC.

Namola went national in November 2017 and is helping hundreds of South African users #GetHelpFast each week.

A difficult incident in a challenging environment over the weekend, saw Goolam Vawda use Namola late on Saturday night:

“I had an accident in a rural area near Loskop, headed towards the Drakensberg, just before 11pm. I used Namola for the first time. An agent responded within seconds. The lady was very efficient and am so impressed with how good the service was. To put the cherry on the top, the agent got the police to call me. I am certain that if I had called the police, either they would not have come, or they would have taken hours.

With Namola’s help, they were there within a few minutes. The agent then called me back again to check if the police had arrived and if everything was okay. The way she spoke, kept calm and provided the service, is beyond belief. As South Africans, we are not used to this.

I am so so so impressed. Wow Namola, thank you, thank you, thank you. I want to say so much more but all that I can say, is thank you again. This app is a gamechanger for this country. Please please keep up this excellent and efficient level of service. Thank you.”

Namola guarantees a call back within 90 seconds of a user requesting assistance. Users are urged to test the app so that they know how to use it if and when an emergency arises.

It is great to see technology helping to #MakeSASafe.

Law enforcement agencies across the country are using Namola. As more local authorities are exposed to the technology and service, we welcome them on board and encourage them as they embrace the app to assist in the fight against crime.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department has endorsed Namola, in particular celebrating how the app and Response Centre are responding efficiently to reports of crime. Johannesburg Mayor - Herman Mashaba - agrees that Namola is a game changer.

Gauteng Traffic has piloted Namola and there have been excellent successes.

If you haven’t yet, download Namola Free and #GetHelpFast.
