Another month, another new bakkie winner, thanks to AfriSam’s Get Lucky Win a Bakkie Competition. To close off women’s month, on the 31st of August 2020, Kalisary Ebrahim, a housewife from Rylands, Athlone was handed a brand-new Toyota Hilux Bakkie after purchasing 20 bags of AfriSam All Purpose Cement to build her family a house. She purchased the cement bags from Kismet Paint and Hardware and was overwhelmed to find out that she was the women’s month winner.
Kalisary is the third winner of the competition following in the footsteps of Gregory Jerome Kock, a contractor from the Northern Cape who claimed the prize in July and Nolubabalo Mboniswa, a single mother of five, from Libode in East London who won in June.
“When I received the news, I first thought it was a joke. I felt very emotional because it was the first time that I won something this big. I would like to thank AfriSam for hosting this competition and awarding me with such a beautiful prize. We now have a bakkie in the family and I am happy that we will not have to worry about hiring or borrowing from friends when we need to carry heavy loads” Kalisary said, excitedly.
“At AfriSam, we are grateful that the products we manufacture make a very real difference in our country. But for us it is so much more than just our products or the structures that our products are used for, it is about the endless possibilities that our products create. We believe in creating concrete opportunities and for Kalisary, we hope she builds a big strong house for her family”, says Michelle Reid, Advertising and Promotions Specialist at AfriSam.
Kalisary adds that with this bakkie, she will be able to help her sister who runs a car wash and, her father can now drive around, seek and carry materials that the family needs for the completion of the building of their house.
