Lance Armstrong to ride Argus - Extended visit to SA

URL : www.trafficintegrated.co.za Lance Armstrong, seven-time Tour De France champion has confirmed via micro blogging site, Twitter, that he will be riding the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour in March 2010. His participation in the Cycle Tour will be an extension of his much-anticipated visit to South Africa, to raise funds for the JAG Foundation, a leading local charity.
Lance will be in Cape Town from 9 – 11 March to promote the ‘Discovery Lance for Life Tour 2010’ whilst from 13 to 14 March, he will dedicate time to training and preparation ahead of this year’s Tour de France.

“The Cycle Tour is a fitting end to what we anticipate is going to be a life-changing tour for many South Africans,” comments Head Local Organiser and Managing Director of Cycle Lab, Gary Marescia.

Expressing his enthusiasm on Twitter last night, Armstrong stated that he will be riding the Argus with South African cyclist Daryl Impey and that he is looking forward to coming to South Africa and supporting the great work of the JAG Foundation.

Lance’s Cape Town itinerary includes a visit to a local school, cycling with SA’s top business personalities, as well as an exclusive banquet dinner and breakfast.
