The Latest Steps Lily Label has Taken to Continue their Commitment to Sustainable Fashion

There’s only one thing the team at Lily Label are more passionate about other than their business, and that’s the planet. This is why they have always made the effort to use sustainable practices in every part of their business.

Lily Label is proud to announce that they have teamed up with Carbon Click and Ecologi, two organisations that are making a difference in the fight against climate change.

CarbonClick

Reverse climate change with a click. CarbonClick is a New Zealand based company that aims to reduce the climate impact of your life or business. CarbonClick looks like a green button at checkout. When you click it, a small contribution is added to your basket which purchases carbon offsets. These offsets reduce the environmental impact of the carbon emissions related to your purchase.CarbonClick's offsets fund forest restoration, tree planting, and renewable energy projects around the world. Lily Label is proud to be part of the fight against climate change and will be making their own contributions, as well as continuously changing and improving their practices to reduce their carbon footprint.

Ecologi

Lily Label plants a tree for every order made online!Lily has teamed up with Ecologi to plant trees in Madagascar.Madagascar is more than just an island from an animated movie. It’s a nation with over 200,000 species of plants and animals that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. Unfortunately, more than 90% of Madagascar’s original forests have been destroyed, displacing entire animal species and taking away the Malagasy’s ability to farm and live on the land. Entire mangrove estuaries are gone, leaving the bare earth to wash away into the sea.

Lily Label’s donations to Ecologi support the non-profit Eden Reforestation Projects, as they continue to reforest the island. Eden are world leaders in responsible reforestation, having already planted 265 million trees and created 2.6 million work days for local communities. Ecologi has their own designated land, to the north west of the island, near Marataola. Here, they are planting, in conjunction with Eden Reforestation, an area of 1,354 hectares (about 180km2). Ecologi will be planting their first two million mangroves here and will then move along the coast to continue the planting process.

As an independent female-owned and sustainable business, Lily Label has always remained committed to delivering proudly South African products that are of the highest quality, without compromising their dedication to sustainability. By purchasing your Lily Label swimsuit you are not only contributing to the employment of local communities but also empowering the necessary climate action that all businesses need to take, in order to help our planet.
