Members of the Road Freight Industry Employers Association (RFEA) are an integral part of the petroleum industrys national distribution infrastructure as they transport petroleum products across South Africa on behalf of SAPIA members. The strike action - specifically the intimidation of drivers - has posed significant challenges to the operations of our members and our efforts to minimise the impact of the action are being hampered. This is likely to affect supply in areas that are particularly hard hit. All SAPIA members have emphasised that the safety and security of their employees and contractors are paramount. Contingency plans are in place; however we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that every action possible is taken to meet supply needs safely and responsibly.
