Anti-corruption and good corporate governance: local and international trends, themes and developments

Submitted by: Teresa Settas

Local and international governments and businesses alike are increasingly exposed to the risks of corrupt practices which have the potential to result in business disruption, financial loss, fines, reputational damage, threats to commercial sustainability, civil and criminal sanctions and imprisonment.

Globalisation, technological advancements and increased regulatory, governance and commercial complexities are opening new frontiers for perpetrators of commercial crime. Owing to the diverse and complex nature of these crimes, together with the fact that these deeds are often concealed from public view, the full scope and cost of commercial crime is exceptionally difficult to define and measure.

Please join us together with our alliance partner, Linklaters, for a half-day workshop where our diverse range of expert speakers from South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States of America (US), as well as former members of the US Security and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice, will guide you in a discussion on key anti-corruption developments and trends that will enable your organisation to manage potential future risk.
