African Directory Services Continues to Mentor Young Graduates

The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves” – Steven Spielberg

On March 1st, 2013 African Directory Services launched a mentorship programme to groom young ambitious graduates for the world of work. The company’s very first talent was a young lady by the name of Amanda Sibiya, a graphic design graduate. Since the first intern, the company has expanded the programme into other departments, with some of the candidates ultimately being hired permanently.

It is no secret that organisations have varying agendas for hiring and training these inexperienced, success hungry youngsters. But with the ever evolving advancements in technology and social media, it does not take a company long to realize the true value that a fresh mind can bring into an organisation.

African Directory Services is always on the lookout for astute new talent to mentor. Internships at the organisation last for a period of three months after which one may be hired as a permanent employee depending on overall performance and conduct.

When one learns how to do a job, it is likely that it is continuously executed in the same way. Today’s interns utilize all kinds of advanced technology on a daily basis to tackle complex tasks and of course for leisure and entertainment purposes.

The main reason why the organisation mentors these graduates is to find future employees and extend knowledge to those willing to learn. It is a known fact that many prospects interview exceptionally well but lack when it comes to completion of tasks. And for that reason our internships aim to motivate and knit pick high performance employees eager to consume knowledge.

There is no specific time of the year that is placed for the internship programme; prospects need to be on the lookout for adverts on employment advertising sites.
