ADSoftware, one of the leading international aviation software firm, is pleased to announce that Air Botswana, the national carrier of Botswana has signed with ADSoftware to implement AirPack Fleet Management System and Logistics Solutions comprising Airtime (Fleet management- CAMO), AirStock (Inventory control - Logistic), AirDoc (Documentation management), AirUser (Security management) and Airstat (Reliability and statistic reports).

Air Botswana is the national airline of the African country of Botswana. The airline was founded in 1972 and started commercial operations the same year. Air Botswana was the direct successor to the now defunct Botswana Airways. The airline headquarter is based at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport of Gaborone, capital city of Botswana. In addition to its responsibilities as the domestic carrier, it operates regional services (South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Zambia) in full support of national development and the important tourism industry.

The national carrier operates and maintains a modern fleet of three ATR42-500 and two ATR72-500 advanced turbopropeller aircraft. These high-performance aircraft carry respectively 46 and 70 passengers in jet-like standards of comfort. In addition to the ATRs, Air Botswana owns one BAe 146 jet, which carries 78 passengers, as part of its fleet.

Air Botswana is an active member of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) and is a regular participant at meetings of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the governing body of world aviation, and other international industry forums.

To provide an overall solution, ADSoftware will employ its proven implementation methodology to provide Air Botswana with a full scope of functionality through AirPack latest 2011 version. “The goals of AirPack 2011 are to deliver superior business solutions to our customers through the enhancement and automation of functions within the AirPack solution” noted Frederick Ulrich, CEO of ADSoftware.

“The implementation of our aviation dedicated software at Air Botswana reflects the strength of our AirPack suite and our continued efforts within the African continent. The support put in place by our local South African office has allowed the project kick-off and will ensure a close cooperation with the airline throughout the implementation process. ADSoftware is very pleased to add Air Botswana to our client base in Africa, and to continue to strengthen and expand our installed base by adding customers over the coming months“, comments Mr Ulrich.
