Cat Sings Judy! Over the Rainbow with Cat

Cat Simoni ‘knows a fine way, to treat a Steinway’! Following the success of Cat Sings Ella! – the story of Ella Fitzgerald in 2014, Cat Simoni is back on her favourite Steinway to explore the Judy Garland legend. It’s early December, 1963… The President of the United States has just been shot down in Dallas and Judy Garland, troubled star of the golden era of MGM movies, now in her forties, is back in concert, at Carnegie Hall.In her usual Judy concert-style the line-up is simply ‘Act One – Judy. Act Two – More Judy’; the platform from which she embraces her audience with her voice, heart and vibrant personality. This time, however, Judy has a few surprises up her sleeve. She’s in a candid, reckless mood and it’s going to be an extraordinary concert. Showcasing all the classic Judy Garland signatures that define her turbulent career; from The Boy Next DoorThe Trolley Song and Zing Went The Strings Of My Heart to Get Happy, Silver Lining and The Man That Got Away - Cat Sings Judy! features the music of some of America’s finest Twentieth Century songwriters; including the Gershwins, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Harold Arlen. Cat Sings Judy! Over the Rainbow with Cat, a Cat&Paul premier production, is a flight of musical fancy, based on fact - and celebrates the legend that is Judy Garland.
