Callpay Wins Bpesa Industry Award for Best Technical Innovation (external) for Call Centres

September 29th, 2015, - Cape Town, South-Africa – CallPay, the leading provider of secure and compliant payment technology for call centres, today announced that Callpay has won the 2015 BPESA Regional Industry Award for best Technical Innovation (External).

Callpay’s patented-pending telephony system allows customers to enter card numbers directly into their telephone keypad when they make a live payment over the phone. The platform integrates seamlessly in almost any call centre. From here, cardholder data are transmitted directly to the bank so no sensitive data are stored in the call centre environment.

This descopes the call centre from the scope of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) regulations and Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act. Using DTMF masking technology, the keypad tones are completely removed so that numbers cannot be identified by their sound, leaving the agent free to continue the conversation with the customer while the payment is made.
