Joomla Workshops Now Double the Value

{pp}Due to the rise in popularity of Joomla training modules, the courses have been combined into a two day workshop that covers both the USER and the ADMINISTRATOR training programs.
The first day features the USER course. This is designed for anyone with basic computer skills who want to get a dynamic web site up and running fast.  At the end of the day you will have started your own Joomla! web site, be able to add news, events, documents, links, users, content pages, media and understand how to make the most of your Joomla! powered website. (minimum of 3, maximum 10 per class).

The course will cover the following topics; Introduction to Open Source Software and Joomla! Intro to Joomla! site structure & Google search How To: Edit content using various WYSIWYG editor How To: Load media and insert it into content How To: Plan content with your visitors in mindHow To: Set keywords & descriptions How To: Create image galleries How To: Share documents for download How To: Create events to attract visitorsTips: Harnessing the power of collaborationTips: Search Engine Strategies to ensure a first page ranking The second day features the ADMINISTRATOR course. Learn the intermediate principles needed to administer your own Joomla! website(s). By the end of the day you will have installed, managed & extended your own Joomla! website including an extended features such as a newsletter, members directory, discussion forum or a document repository (maximum 5 per class).

The course will cover the following topics:How To: Set up a stand alone server for testing offline How To: Populate transfer content from an existing website(s) / word/excel documents How To: Find, select and install a template How To: Find, select & install extensions (modules, components & mambots) How To: Backup & Restore your Joomla! website How To: Promote a newly developed website to your market Tips on:Securing your Joomla! website against malicious hackers Communication Strategies to sustain site interaction amongst colleagues Capitalising on commercial extensions Q & A Session - come prepared to ask all your questions about Joomla Development and Management

Bonus Features:An introduction to Google Applications.The workshops will be held in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. In Cape Town, the dates are the 20th and 21st of November, whilst in Johannesburg, the dates will be the 22nd and the 23rd of November. Venues to be confirmed. The cost of the two day workshop is R4200 per person (incl. VAT).
