Agri-Expo Livestock 2015 – live six-point milking demonstrations by GEA

GEA will showcase its innovative IQ Cluster and ClassicPro Teat Liner at its six-point side-by-side milking parlour at the Agri-Expo Livestock 2015. To demonstrate its milking innovations, their ease of use and successful implementation, GEA will erect an onsite temporary milking parlour to demonstrate its equipment’s capabilities. The demonstrations will be conducted on show attendees’ ready-for-milking cows, for the show period from 15 to 17 October.

Agri-Expo, traditionally one of the premier agricultural shows in the Western Cape, focuses on farming, research, agricultural produce and equipment. Additional GEA’s products on display at this year’s Expo include specialised dairy machinery and hygiene chemicals. Newly developed cattle pre- and post-dips for farmers to will also be available.

“We’re looking forward to again displaying our niche offering at this year’s exhibition,” says Darren Hutcheson, Sales Manager, GEA Milking and Dairy Farming equipment, South Africa. “This forum presents the ideal opportunity to showcase our IQ Cluster and ClassicPro Teat Liner to the crème de le crème of South Africa’s dairy and agricultural farmers.”

Product benefits

The IQ Cluster records milk for each milking quarter, prevents leaking during attachment and milking, reduces cross-contamination from teat-to-teat for enhanced udder health, and quickly and gently directs the milk, without turbulence, to a central outlet increasing the cluster capacity. Other advantages include:

  • Easy to handle
  • A facilitated liner change
  • Preserves the maximum milk quality and quantity

The ClassicPro Teat Liner provides animal-comfort, economical milking due to a moveable head that offers an optimal udder fit, and can be adjusted to a low vacuum. It provides fast and complete milk extraction via a reliable bond of the cluster to the udder, while the soft design of the shaft ensures optimal teat massaging in the stimulation, milking and discharge phases. Other benefits include:

  • A smooth lip design for milking without constrictions which enables optimum milk flow and excellent milk removal
  • Unparalleled milk hygiene due to the smooth silicone surface
  • Double the life of a rubber liner
