Skygistics enhances AfricaScope’s quality of social marketing research with remote tracking systems

AfricaScope has developed unique approaches for tracking fieldworkers and provide a service to social and market research companies in South Africa and Africa. AfricaScope selected Skygistics’ location-based tracking system that allows it to monitor the status and activity of its fieldworkers. By establishing a real-time personal tracking network, AfricaScope is able to increase the quality of its fieldwork research and more importantly, keep its workforce safe while they conduct their daily research.

Each unit has been programmed to provide three tracking functions: movement and location monitoring; SOS (panic) activation; as well as a ‘please call me’ feature when researchers require a supervisor to contact them while conducting interviews.

The units are configured to create automatic geo-position events every 60 seconds when travelling between places and interview locations. AfricaScope will also be able to determine the length of interviews, ensuring greater insight into fieldwork quality and accuracy. AfricaScope can then provide social research that is far more accurate and reliable. These events are logged in the SkyQ web-based software that generates accurate, in-depth trail audits.

AfricaScope opted for the voice-enabled Skygistics Guardian 700 that allows two-way communication between researchers and supervisors. The units can be programmed to function in a variety of ways and generate a range of reports and actionable data including geo-location audits; emergency event notifications; geo-fence boundary crossings; and scheduled GPS reporting based on time, distance and changes in direction.

The Skygistics Guardian 700 is designed for tracking individual fieldworkers, security personnel as well as dependents such as children and the elderly. They support incoming text messages sent from remote tracking application (or regular cellular device) and can store up to four pre-programmed emergency numbers for rapid support and medical and/or mechanical response.

A range of Skygistics remote monitoring platforms are used across Africa in a wide range of industries and applications, from personal location trackers in adventure sport and recreational applications to full satellite vessel and cargo monitoring applications. The company offers full GPS tracking solutions that utilise reliable GSM and satellite networks to ensure your assets are where they should be.
